Trailer of 'Are you enjoying the time of Eve (イヴの時間)' from Studio Rikka
I wrote about this upcoming animated film from Yoshiura Yasuhiro (吉浦康裕), ie. the creator of Pale Cocoon (ペイル・コクーン) and Aquatic Language(水の言葉) earlier. Apparently, the trailer above has been released for some time but it came to my attention just now.
It seems from the trailer that the story takes place in the same futuristic world as Aquatic Language (see YouTube video here if you have not seen it yet). I like what I see. I think this is the sort of thing fans of Shinkai Makoto would like as well.
I came cross to it a month ago or so already.
And it was only 2 month ago I watched Pale Cocoon. I really love Pale Cocoon, but I never understood "Mizu no Kotoba". Perhaps because it was really late and I really had to sleep, perhaps because the subs were something nordish. (from Sweden? Finnland?)
Since Plae Cocoon is being released in Germany, with mizu no kotoba as an extra I never watched it twice. (Since my DVD player abadoned me...)
As for Eve no Jikan, I could no help it, but it reminded me of Chobits. But I really believe, it will be far better. No annoying Chii at least and no fanservice. And the first thing that this trailer hit in my ear was the voice of Jun Fukuyama.
And the second thing, I really had to laugh very much at the "tabun". I nerver though I could laugh because of a mere "probably".
There is also a trailer in better quality here:

(suppose you don't what the "h".)

One of these I ought to do a post on what I think 'Mizu no Kotoba' is about... if time permits.
I have never seen Chobits so wouldn't know. The voice is indeed Fukuyama. There are quite a number of big-name voice actors in this and I was quite surprised. I was half expecting this to be just another obscure piece of film.
If I recall correctly, I think The Sky Crawlers is also said to be set in a 'place that is like Japan'. I wonder why both films emphasize that it is set in a place that is like Japan but not quite though. Very odd. Why can't they just say it is or is not Japan?

After watching it now 3 times I finally got through to the meaning. Or at least half of it.
And the first thing I really noticed, after watching it - I want to read Asimov pretty much.
(Never new that "I robot" isn't jus a movie.)
I'm not so much into androids, but perhaps I'll get, after watching the Eve no Jikan movie. XD.
As for Chobits: You are better off without watching it. It has nice ideas, but overall It's not that great.
Kaori Yuki's Neji (the third chapter) did a better job at this topic.

I am the other way around - I never knew that the novel I Robot became a film. ^-^

I should have suspected it.
As it was aired in Free-TV, and looked at its advertisements, and also when I was watching the whole film I had the very impression that this was just another action movie of the mainstream watcher. Only the end (and a couple of other short scenes) had left me with quite some impression, about which I had to think quite a while. That should have made me suspicious...
But it is nice to know where all these Android-Rules have their origin.

Shimizu Reiko did a lot of stories about androids too in her early career, and in my opinion they are the best I have ever read/seen. I really must find time to write about them at some point.

(Finally!) The first of 6 parts of the movie has been released on thei website ttp://timeofeve.com/
The hints on Mizu no Kotoba are vast, if I see right. It's the same café they have in both films, isn't it?
I supposed the café landlady will be an android, too, just like as in Mizu no Kotoba.
They have splitted the movie into 6 parts, similiar to how Shinkai splitted Byousoku 5cm into 3 parts. In a way it's nice, since I don't really like lenthy movies, but then I am too earger to know the rest. But I think I still prefer the split up version.

Yahoo! Douga blocks overseas access to their videos. Not that it will stop the video from getting ripped...

That's strange...
For me it played perfectly well.
Or does Europe not count as overseas? *just a bit confused* And I didn't see any Yahoo symbol on that site... Actually...

The link you gave is only the official website. The actual website you have to watch it at is Yahoo! Douga (I believe they have exclusive rights to webcast it). I hope you are not mistaking the flash opening of the official website for the actual thing...

No, you really you can watch it on the official website.
If you enter the site there, there is that flash opening, then you skip that, the main site appears and there is a moving ring navigation. There you click on movie and you get a listing. Up to now only two trailers and the first part "Akiko" available. And then there is a little bottom indicating "Play". Then you click that and the video is loading and plays.
I watched it this way. Of yourse it was without subs, so I'm no that sure, whether I made everything out, but I am at least certain, it was no flash opening. ^^"

Hmm, not sure if it just the screen of the computer I am on now (the 7" EEE PC), I could see only 2 buttons of 'play' for the trailers. But no matter...
