'The Revelation': A quick word on modications from the manga so far
[Spoilers up to Episode 4]
I was half expecting Ms. Amachi (the girl with ponytail) to die a gruesome death as per the manga in Episode 4, but it turns out that they have substituted it with an original story about the group suicide of elderly men. So it seems that she is to stay in Section 9 after all. (They really should do something about her character design - she wears the same clothes day after day.)
In addition, Aoki's fixation on his elder sister is a fair substitute of the American lipreader's fixation on his mother in the original manga. It also makes sense in light of what is to follow in the manga - that Aoki is to turn his fixation on a certain older female colleague.
The anime also skipped a story related to Maki and Suzuki. I am guessing that story is probably shuffled to somewhere towards the end in the anime series. They have to explain who is Suzuki at some point after all the fanfare in the Episode 1.
Episode 5 would seem to be a return to the original manga story about a certain femme fatale. That is a good and complicated story in itself, but (as mentioned several times before) I am really, really looking forward to the 'theme park mascot murder' case.

I suspected they would save her... Well, I the changes are just increasing and yes, she should wear another clothes. In episode one the medererd house-wife was using the same combination of colors and almost the same attire as her.
Ah, nice site of yours! I'll bookmark it.

I have just finished watching the entire 26 episodes of the animation, and am very much impressed. It sort of reminds me of "The Ghost in the Shell"--not only because they are both called section nine and "dive in" the people's mind, but the characters as a whole seem to have the very similar attitude. Maki somehow overlaps with Major Kusanagi much--unquestionably a very strong and beyond perfect leader with mystery and the dark past.

On the contrary I am rather disappointed. The series seems to have retained none of that magical touch of delicacy in the original manga... and the fact that they omitted the mascot murder case is a definite dealbreaker for me...
