Spoilers of 'Toshokan Sensou' up to the latest volume of the novel series

[Spoilers up to the latest volume of the novel series]

Toshokan30042008_230843

I have not read the novel series, but these are some findings from the Japanese blogosphere and 2chan:

  • Dojo Atsushi is in fact the Prince whom Kasahara Iku has been searching for. She learns the truth from a letter from the elder brother of Tezuka Hikaru.
  • Tezuka Hikaru is to get into some sort of relationship with Shibasaki Asako.

It seems to me that the story is more about the interpersonal relationships of the characters than about war per se, so I am not expecting it to get worked up about society and freedom of speech and what-have-you. This is fair enough too, given that the characters' interaction with each other is extremely entertaining to watch.

And while I am at it, can someone explain what Komaki Mikihisa's character description as 笑う正論 means? I have never come across the phrase 笑う正論 before and am curious as to its meaning in Japanese. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

The truth about the prince was revealed as early as volume 2 of the novel if I'm not mistaken (from what I browsed in my copy of it). But you might want to enclose those in spoiler tags, wabi sabi? :p

I was somewhat spoiled by wikipedia in terms of the relationship between Tezuka and Shibasaki, and I'm realllyy intrigued about it.

When I read the manga a few months back, what really got me hooked was also the character interaction, which is why I just *sigh* at the sight of people who can't enjoy this because the ridiculous premise gets into their nerves :|

I haven't encountered '笑う正論' before too, but considering Komaki's character, it would most likely refer to the ever-present smile on his face, and the way he always gives sound arguments to mediate disputes or issues. Perhaps bangin can provide further englightenment regarding this XD

i can't translate it properly, but it's something along the lines of what usagijen said... or is it?

usagijen:

There is already a spoiler tag in bold and purple. It is above the picture.

I was listening to the web radio shows on the official website where the voice actors introduce trivia about the show regularly and they call 'Toshokan Sensou' a love comedy... I think one would be well advised to enjoy it as such.

minus-one:

Thank you kindly for pasting. Having read that, I think what usagijen said above it right as to what 笑う正論 means.
